Stuck in Reality

“No matter what I do, my mind always circles back to the same disturbing thoughts. Though I tried my best to figure it out, I still have no clue how I even got here. Why I’m suddenly in a world with ‘friends’ I've never met before, working a job I’ve never done before, living in a fictional place I’ve never seen before. I don’t even know who I really am. Despite only being here for three days I can clearly feel how this is all tearing me apart.

‘Stuck in Reality’ is a Visual Novel telling the story of Jinko who was warped into existence inside a simulation, unaware of who she is or how she even got here. The game focuses not only on Jinko’s exploration of this new environment, but more so on her psychological struggle of living inside a fabricated world.

While part of her enjoys spending time with her newfound “friends” and working with pets at an animal shelter, another part greatly wants to leave this digital prison.

Yet, Jinko’s desperate search for a way out gnaws on her, distressing the girl more and more. She won’t give in, however. Jinko’s certain that she can find an escape route. She has to.

I plan on releasing ‘Stuck in Reality’ by the end of this year. I don’t want to make any false promises, which is why I’m not giving away any dates. 90% of the remaining work is creating the finished artwork and music. And since I don’t want to pressure the artists or myself, I can’t give you an exact date.

• Stuck in Reality will be entirely free. This will not change whatsoever. People willing to donate can do so on right here on itch.io once the game has been released.
• Stuck in Reality is not suitable for people under the age of 18 and people dealing with psychological illnesses.
